POZ-LOC Slip Base System
The POZ-LOC Slipbase sign support system is
designed to allow sign posts to break away, improving safety
economically. A break away system is 
designed
to release on impact to reduce the possibility of occupant
injury. With our POZ-LOC Slip Base system we have worked to
design an easy to install system where in the event of an
impact most parts are reused and the subsequent re-installation
is very low cost in terms of both materials and labor.
Components of the POZ-LOC Slipbase System
Ground Stub - installed in concrete
as the base for the installation, this is a heavy duty
fabrication designed to allow a simple re-installation of the
post following any impact.
Retainer Plate - A galvanized plate
to allow the release of the upper casting and post in the event
of an impact.
Set Screw Casting - Designed for
simple installation of the post, this casting is bolted to the
ground stub, with bolts held in place by the retainer plate.
Our set screw design allows both the set screws tightened to
the post plus a special set screw designed to positively lock
into a field drilled hole in the post. This combination of set
screws allows simple installation and the positive lock to
prevent movement of the post in any wind condition or sign
location.
POZ-LOC Sign Post - Available from
inventory in multiple lengths, there are also several options
in terms of wall thickness. The type of sign you are going to
use and the specifics of the location dictate which type of
post is best suited for your application. Our expert sales

- 2.875" Schedule 80
- 2.875" NP 40- a lighter weight post option with larger sign capabilities
- 2.875" BWG 10
- Powder Coating to your requirements
The POZ-LOC Slipbase System is NCHRP Report 350
compliant and meets or exceeds AASHTO requirements. It is FHWA
approved.
